Thatta's Tablets
1. Ativan 1mg
Lorazepam, sold under the brand name Ativan among others, is a benzodiazepine medication which act on the brain and nerves (CNS) to produce a calming effect. Ativan affects the heart by slowing your heart rate and lowering your blood pressure. This drug depresses the central nervous system, and physiological functions like breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation are reduced, contributing to relaxation. This drug works by enhancing the effects of a certain natural chemical in the body (GABA).
It is used to treat anxiety disorders, trouble sleeping, severe agitation, active seizures including status epilepticus, alcohol withdrawal, and chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
Lorazepam tablets and liquid start to work in around 20 to 30 minutes. The full sedating effect lasts for around 6 to 8 hours.
Drowsiness, dizziness, loss of coordination, headache, nausea, blurred vision, change in sexual interest/ability, constipation, heartburn, or change in appetite may occur. The most common side effect is feeling sleepy (drowsy) during the daytime.
Xanax has a quicker onset of effect, but a shorter duration of action (4 to 6 hours) compared with Ativan's 8 hours. Sedative and performance-impairing effects may occur sooner with Xanax, but dissipate quicker than with Ativan.
